Nice walkabout

Friday Nov 8th 2019

A cold but sunny morning, I ventured out nicely wrapped up, Captain's was quiet apart from a solitary Great Crested Grebe and the usual mass of Mallards.
A stroll up Ghost lane where I spotted a couple of Jays flying into Pirates Wood, also a couple of Goldcrests in the same vicinity, walking up the lane I saw three pheasants in the field.
In a field opposite the College I saw what was most probably a thrush, but could well have been a Merlin, but my ID skills are not the best, also saw a lone buzzard high in the sky in the same area.

Not much more wildlife on the way up to Shenstone but I did spot a lone Muntjac on my way back along Stanklyn Lane.

On way down to Stankly

Butts lane, never saw any plants, lots of bushes though

Pirates wood looking autumnal

Overall a lovely autumnal walk, great to see the sunshine bringing out
all these lovely nature's colours.
Today as I write this blog it is very cold and raining pretty steady.

Fungus time

Not been out as much as I would have liked over the past few weeks due to bad dose of the Flu, always get it at this time of the year.

Plenty of Fly agaric around Spennells at the moment, never seen so many.

Not seen much by the pool and today was no exception, there was one Great crested Grebe, two herons and a cormorant.

I shall most probably not post now for a couple of weeks unless I see something different of course.

Hoverflies

The weekend of 14/15th May 2022. Sorry I've been neglecting my blog again, health issues keep getting in the way, so for now am working...
