Had a cold walkabout this morning, had a walk in a field this morning where I hadn't been before, I saw quite a few birds flying around and went to investigate, lots of chaffinches but also at least 6 bramblings.
Stonechats were still pottering around in the dead man's allotment along with several goldfinches, actually wherever I walked this morning the goldfinches were around and quite a lot of them.
As it was colder than usual I took my flask and while having a cuppa this little lady appeared.
And the robin of course.
Downside is that the sun is very harsh for photography before lunch.
I set up a little twig and this little blue tit kindly obliged.
Just before I went off for lunch the green woodpeckers were active, but too far out for photos.
After lunch I decided to try a few flight shots while the light was good, but it was very hit and miss, bright sunshine to very dull in seconds, even had snow, good job I have waterproof cover for the camera.
The dunnock showed several times while I was there but no decent in flight shots of him.
To summarise it was a hit and miss day, saw kestrel a couple of times and also buzzards.
Skylarks hovering freely when the sun was out.
I decided late on to go and try for a couple of sunsets, this one is along Wilden Lane.
These two are from Hartlebury Common.
I have been concentrating a lot lately on wildlife, think I need to get out and try a few more landscapes as well, hopefully some different images will appear here very soon.
Great post with a nice mix of species!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jason, just waiting for the rare ones. :-)
