More macro

Friday May 5th

Much of the same again, my usual walk, Captains, Grey Lady's Cloisters, round the edges of the fields which is where the macros came from, one tip here for finding insects is walk round the areas where the sun hits, you're not going to find much in the shadow areas.

Not much seen in the bird variety though, spent a while down by the Dead Man's Allotment in the hope the whinchat might still be around, but nowhere to be seen, a very quiet day.

Saturday May 5th

Phew, this was a very warm day, tee shirt weather.
Couple walkabouts today, first down the front by the three pools, looking for insects.
Fuzzy black white bee

Green veined white

Alder fly

Large veined damselfly

Below are the results from this afternoon, mainly down stonechats lane, very quiet for birds, could hear them but harder to pick up now the trees are growing again.

Scarlet tiger moth caterpillar

Hairy Shieldbug

Speckled Wood

Ladybird

Dandelion

All the above are taken with my Canon bridge camera, some are taken with a raynox 250 macro attachment.

Canadian Goose and family on Captains.

Sunday May 6th

The hottest day of the year so far, around 25 and looking like it could be even hotter tomorrow which is Bank holiday Monday.
A quick walk this morning as we have the grandchildren for the day and a sleepover tonight.
7.30 this morning.
Could see the grebes way out in the distance, but with limited time available I couldn't stay, on the way down to Stonechats lane I got a snap of a dog rose covered in morning dew.
Hid another couple of painted rocks and headed home.
