Heron gone fishing

Up to Captain's Pool early this morning, 4 female and 2 male Gooseanders were up by the island, lone cormorant on the dead tree, 6 Canadian Geese, 4 moorhens and the usual mallards and gulls on the pool.
Home for breakfast.
On my return a Heron was on one of the fishing platforms, watched for a while and then he pounced, looked like he had a large bream, heron couldn't lift it out of the water, a few attempts and then gave up so back to the platform and shortly after flew off to the island.
Also only 3 Gooseanders now.
Also a kingfisher by the island.
Pics not very good as the light was awful.

One of the Canadian Geese showing off.

Couple of the resident gulls.

Off up the fields for a walk round, 3 or 4 different flocks, I did spot a lot of goldfinch and chaffinch but not so sure about the others, probably linnets.
Spent a while scouring the Dead Man's Allotment, but that was dire, nothing moving at all.
Following 4 photos are from the top part of the carrot field.

After a scout around Stanklyn and Heath Lane (huge amount of pigeon's in aircraft field), both areas very quiet, I returned to Captain's where there was a brief glimpse of sunshine, but it didn't last.
The Gooseanders had moved in a little closer and managed a few reasonable record shots.
