Walk to the railway field

Was one of those days, windy and bitterly cold, but never mind it was dry so off I went, first stop Captain's Pool, quite choppy on there but the three Gosseanders were still there.

A walk over the carrot fields but that was quiet apart from a few small flocks, still no sign of anything at the Dead Man's Allotment, a brief walk along Stanklyn towards Stone, but all so quiet, so about
turn and headed down in the direction of the railway field, was a good chilly stroll.

Surprised to see quite a few reed buntings about and they didn't mind posing.
But apart from a couple of buzzards there was nothing else about.

Love these winter trees from from the railway field.

Took this one with my back to the railway lines.

Walked back along the top of the fields and spotted this kestrel looking for some food.

After lunch I popped out again, same scenario, very quiet, a few starlings up top of carrot fields.

Flock of small birds over the carrot fields, they don't settle for long, the slightest thing disturbs them.

In need of a cup of brew now so made my way back down to Captain's, didn't spot the Gooseanders though, Cormorant was flying overhead.

The friendly robin was still around though.

And that was my lot for today, chilly buy most enjoyable as are most of my walks around Spennells.
