Sunday 10th March
Wet but mild, bit blustery, all in all not a nice morning, a walk down to the three pools reserves reveal much of any interest, saw just the usual birds, a walk around Captain's Pool was much of the same, small birds quite active but by the time I arrived here the wind was almost gale force so I didn't stay long.
The GC Grebes were getting a little closer to each other, but still not actually meeting up.
Quite a few Canadian Geese about and that was about it.
Wintery conditions forecast for the next few days at least but will endeavour to get out for my walkabouts.
Brief bit of sunshine from the back of the pool.
Great Crested Grebe again!
Saturday 9th March
Sun was rising when I got up this morning, quick cuppa and popped out, but very quiet around the reserves down by the three pools, a steady walk then up to Captain's and the heaven's opened, oh dear, brief bit of light as these Geese took off and that was the end of that, rain set in.
Oh and gale force winds to contend with, branches flying around everywhere around me so I decided to go home.
The Grebes I noted were a lot nearer to each other this morning, at one point only about 6 feet apart.
Pictures not the best due to the conditions.

Only chance for a visit to Captain's this afternoon, not much there apart from a Cormorant who was sat in this tree the whole time I was there.
The Grebes were still there but same as before, male chasing around after the female with no luck.
