Muntjac in the rain

Thursday 7th March

During the day it rained and it rained and the wind blew so all in all it was horrible out there, was out all morning and when I got home I just didn't feel like going back out again, but it did ease off around 4 and I popped up to Captain's for an hour and not surprised to see hardly anything, the 2 GC Grebes were still there but still well apart, did see 6 Gooseanders though, also a vicious fight between a few mallards. A quick walk around the pool was all I managed.

Female GC Grebe still playing hard to get.

2 Gooseanders

1 Gooseander

Just s few seconds view of the sun, first is a straight shot from my phone, the second I have tinted on the computer.

Wednesday 6th March

A  really wet start so didn't get out till after Lunch, it did brighten up, that is till I got out there and the rain came back, but not as heavy as this morning and didn't deter me from an hour or so walkabout though.
Grebes still on the pool but nothing else of note.
Lots of crows and magpies over the fields, Stanklyn and the Dead Man's Allotment were exceptionally quiet apart from the cars, one went past me at a ridiculous speed.
The reserves were busy today with small birds and lots of squirrels.
Again a lot of magpies all over, especially down Stanklyn.

I was lucky to catch sight of this Muntjac Buck whilst out was getting wet was worth it, such shy animals but fantastic to see and to know they are around Spennells Fields.
