Moths

Saturday 27th April

Very blustery day, only walks round Captain's today.
Lots of Swallows and few House Martins about, couple of Herons at one point, they had a brief mid air fight, but the wind kept them apart.
All photos taken in poor light.

Thursday 25th April

Didn't get out yesterday, hay fever pretty rough at the moment and not much better today.
Again just a visit to Captain's which apart from a heron fishing it was very quiet, was quite a stormy day.

Tuesday 23rd April

Hay fever really bad at the moment, so only quick walk round Captain's and then a trip to Hartlebury Common later with my buddy Jason, thanks for picking me up mate, was an enjoyable afternoon.

Easter

Easter Monday 22nd April

Another glorious start, clouded up late morning, up several times in the night with my hay fever which is really bad now due to the tree pollen, hence only short visits now as far as Captain's Pool until the tree pollen eases off.
Swallows were dipping on the pool and Geese were making hell of a row.
GC Grebe still sitting on the nest.

Easter Sunday 21st April

Glorious start to the morning, had an early walk round Captain's in the hope of spotting the Little Grebe, but no sign of it.
Heron arrived and did a spot of fishing again, but light poor for photos being too early.
Popped back up late morning, very quiet apart from a grass snake.

Saturday 20th April, EVENING

Had a couple of hours up Captain's Pool watching the heron, sun was a bit too low for these photos, but I gave it a go.
Also late on I spotted a Little Grebe, sadly no photo, I can make all sorts of excuses, but just couldn't get near enough.

Saturday 20th April

Up and about early this morning, very bright sunshine to start with, nice walk round the pool, heard the GS Woodpecker but didn't see him, two Mandarins at the back of the island, but they flew off quite soon after I arrived.
