Great Crested Grebe is back

Friday 28th Feb

Weather is absolutely disgusting, hasn't stopped raining all morning, glad I braved a walkabout though, 6 Gooseanders and 1 Great Crested Grebe on Captain's Pool.
Sorry about poor quality of pics, camera doesn't like this weather.

This is what Captain's looked like while I was there.

Saturday 29th March

Another GC Grebe had arrived on the pool when I got up there, now fingers crossed they get on well together.
Really sunny day but bitterly cold with high winds, gale force through saturday night.

Tufted ducks and a tree bumblebee

Tuesday 26 Feb 2020.

All sorts of weather at the moment, rain, wind, hail and some sunshine.

Bewdley and Stourport are in flood which is not good.

Muntjac this morning, shame I only managed one shot.

Sun one minute, cloud the next, lots of birds about this morning though.

Thursday 27 Feb 2020

Very cold with bitterly cold wind, I was well wrapped up this morning.

Four tufted ducks arrived on Captain's Pool, a few jays down in the reserves and by the three pools, otherwise very quiet.

Looked nice but it was mighty cold out there.

Frog time

Feb 23rd 2020

The frogs are back and was nice to see the nuthatches using the same nest hole as they have the precious two years.
Still a long way to go before Spring comes along, but a bit more life these past few weeks.

Pair of Greylag Geese on the pool a couple of days ago.

Gooseanders can be seen most mornings early on, but they don't stay long.

round up

A bit of a round up, not seen a lot lately to be fair.

Over the past 5 or 6 weeks have seen lots of buzzards, Reed Buntings, Skylarks, Goldcrests and all the usual birds, still been doing my walkabouts round the area, just not seeing much wildlife.
Did have a good sized flock of Linnets around during January, but they are harder to find now.
Foxes and Muntjacs still about, but not seeing as many as last winter.
Hopefully see some insect life appearing very soon.

Gooseanders this morning on Captains

Pair of stonechats have been around some days up Heath Lane.
