Cold but interesting day

Very frosty start, love it when it's like this, firstly off to Captain's, nice to see a swan on the pool, one on it's own, also a heron and a lone female Gooseander.

Knowing that swans don't stay long here I decided to give it a while to see if it would take off and lucky me it did, shame the light had deteriorated when it flew, but never mind I got some photos.

Female Gooseander fishing, didn't see it catch anything though.

Gulls were a bit amorous today, set a slow shutter speed for something a little bit more arty.

Up over the fields there were still some flocks around, mostly up the top by the manure heaps.
Noted lots of chaffinch, linnets and goldfinch today.
Still trying to get close for a really good photo, but I can tell you that it's not easy, these birds are very skittish.
Couple buzzards, magpies and Great tits, over Dead Man's Allotment, but nothing else, still hoping the stonechat will re-appear.

Titterstone Clee Hill nicely visible today.

Male Chaffinch down Ghost lane on the walk back home.

Plus the local robin wanted to see what I was up to.
