Tuesday 12th Feb
In the garden most of the day unfortunately, but I had been promising the wife for ages, was a dull day but managed a couple of brief walks.
Spent most of the time around the reserves near Captains and the car park.
Photos are very poor A, because of the poor light and B, because I had accidentally altered the settings!
Lots of chaffinch around, saw at least 6 treecreepers and a few siskin, didn't hear or see the GS Woodpecker today and the pool again was very quiet, always the same when someone is fishing.
Well done to the Wyre Forest Rangers who had been clearing the stream of rubbish, yet again.

Monday 11th Feb
Bright start to the day, very quiet by Captain's Pool, small bird activity by Pirate's Wood, mainly great tit's, blue tit's and Chaffinch.
Again I could hear the GS Woodpecker drumming in the reserve next to Captain's.
Only couple small flocks up by Edna's Grave, goldfinches and chaffinches and a couple of Bramblings.
I had a stroll up Heath Lane which was very quiet apart from Crows and a few others mixed in feeding on the freshly ploughed field next to the model aircraft field.
Stood next to the Caravan field just past the College for a while, but nothing about, similar story for the sheep field next to it, very quiet.
Back to Stanklyn, spotted few redwings and tits, couple of Dunnocks and a wren in the hedgerows, the Dead Man's Allotment was quiet though, I didn't spot the Stonechat at all.
Single Buzzard hunting at the back but constantly being chased off by the Crows.
Crows etc near the model aircraft field.
Couple of Skylarks above the Carrot field and on the walk back down Ghost Lane I observed lots of Chaffinch dropping down into the field and then quickly back up into the trees, the field being left as it is for this winter has certainly attracted lots of small birds.
Must not forget the Robin, always see these birds where ever I walk.
Back down at Captain's there were now 3 Gooseanders up the top end by the island.

Sunday Feb 10th
Wasn't expecting to get out today but I did, quite breezy especially on Captain's, people fishing hence no sign of the Gooseanders, saw 1st winter Chaffinch which let me take a few shots.
The walk up Ghost lane was very muddy and slippy, lots of birds by Edna's Grave, looked like they were waiting for someone to feed them, small flock at the other end of the hedgerow, looked to be chaffinches.
A steady walk then along Stanklyn Lane, the Stonechat was still there flitting around towards the back of the field. One buzzard being sent off by three crows. 3 Meadow Pipits on the fence by the fruit trees.
Couple Dunnocks by the gate to the Dead Man's Allotment and a wren messing in the dead ferns.
Didn't see much else along the lane.
Checked out Captain's on way back home but still very quiet.
Just got home and a Blackcap settled just in front of the lounge window.
