Friday Feb 8th
Rain eased off slightly so I donned the waterproofs and popped up to Captain's, sod's law it started hammering down while I was there, 3 Gooseanders in view, but they soon disappeared up the far end when they spotted me.
Got so far up Ghost Lane and the rain wasn't easing off so I knocked it on the head.e
Did note how much lying water there was in the reserve by Captain's, wouldn't fancy walking in there at the moment!

Distant view and was hammering down
Captain's looking murky
Brightened up considerably this afternoon, so off I went again, could only see 1 Gooseander on the way out, over the fields there were a couple of flocks being blown about by the strong wind, Chaffinches and Linnets.
Dead Man's Allotment was very quiet, no sign of the Stonechat at all, did see a couple of meadow Pipits and that was it, think the wind was deterring the small birds.
Only 1 buzzard about which was hinting up by Edna's Grave and the hedgerow along the sale field.
Spent a couple of hours by the DMA hoping to see the chat, did spot one little bird by the shed in the Heath Lane Paddock and that was about it.
Back to Captain's and this time all 3 Gooseanders were fishing near to the houses, 1 lone Cormorant fishing close to the island as it usually does.

It's going to be Monday now at the earliest for my next post, bet the weather will be perfect tomorrow as I can't get out.
