Red Kite over Spennells.

Friday June 8th

Dull start but brightened up after lunch so popped down to the pools where I met up with Jason, most enjoyable as we always have a good natter.

This image of a very young crow I took on the way down there.

Managed to get close enough for a portrait.

Also a snail on the way.

Down by the pools we saw many common blues also saw our first Painted Lady butterfly of the year.
Here's a shot of my first Meadow Brown of the year.

On my evening walk to put out the fox treatment I spotted this stunning moth.

Agapeta hamana Tortrix moth
Personally I would call it a joker moth.

Saturday June 9th

Started the day by painting a few more rocks, still quite dull but bright enough to get out for a lurkabout, this morning I just stayed around the Grey Lady's Cloisters and Pirates Wood.

Sunday June 10th
We decided to pop up to Clee Hill, love it up there, nice place to relax, amble about or just sit and read, must admit the wife spotted both of these.

Green Hairstreak

Wall Brown

Got back late afternoon, after tea I went for a wander by Pirates Wood and the Grey Lady's Cloisters.

The Snout Moth

Giant Crane Fly

Green Carpet Moth.

Monday 11th June

Only an hour or so down by the 3 pools this morning, saw plenty of dragonflies but they were not in much of a settling mood, they just keep flying and flying, don't know where they get the energy from.
Saw a buzzard while down there hunting on the overgrown part of the reserve, than had a quick walk up to Captain's nothing out of the usual up there, some massive carp though cruising quite close in.

Green caterpillar hanging by a thread.

Emporer Dragonfly hiding in the undergrowth.

And whilst sat in the garden resting before work I spotted this red kite overhead, first time I have seen one over Spennells.
Only managed a record shot but very pleased.
